President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was forced to leave parliament after the opposition staged a protest in the House against the President.
Rajapaksa attended Parliament today for the first time after the protests broke out against him in April.
The President arrived at the House to listen to the statement made by the Prime Minister on the current economic situation in the country.
Opposition MPs, however, staged a protest against him chanting “Gota Go Home” slogans.
Ouch! This is how the arrival of #SriLanka President @GotabayaR to @ParliamentLK a few minutes ago ended: #GotaGoHome2022. Unplanned and never happened in the history. He had to get up and leave. pic.twitter.com/zuXiyQodAs
