The Ministry of Defense has initiated an audit of firearms issued to civilians, to ensure accountability and proper usage.

A specialized team has been appointed to carry out the audit, which will verify the ownership and condition of the firearms. Once the process is complete, the Ministry said that appropriate steps would be taken to return the firearms to their rightful owners.

Additionally, the Ministry is processing appeals from individuals wishing to surrender their firearms, with around 50 cases being reviewed daily.
