The Avant Garde Security Services Pvt. Ltd and its director retired Major Nissanka Senadhipathi withdrew a writ petition filed with the Court of Appeal, seeking an order directing the Colombo District Secretary to issue the relevant licenses to 91 guns for 2016.

The Counsel appearing for the petitioners informed Court yesterday that the petitioners have already received the relevant licenses.

Therefore, they wanted to withdraw the case, the lawyer told court.

The Court of Appeal Bench comprising Justice Vijith K. Malalgoda and Justice Devika Livera de Tennakoon considered the request and permitted the petition to be withdrawn.

The Senior Superintendent Police of Mirihana, Headquarters Inspector of Mirihana, OIC Administration at Mirihana, DIG Colombo South, Inspector General of Police, the Defence Ministry Secretary, Colombo District Secretary and the Attorney General were cited as respondents in the case.
