The Meteorology Department says that heavy showers will occur in several parts of Sri Lanka today.

Showers are expected at times in the Northern, Eastern, and North-Central provinces, while showers or thundershowers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, and North-Western provinces during the evening or night.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100mm is likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northern provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. Misty conditions are also expected in the morning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts.
