The tug of war between Army Comamnder Chrishantha de Silva and the Criminal Investigations Department over the investigation into the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda has taken a new turn with the Army Commander placing the Girithale camp under the Military Police.
He said the Military Police should have facilitated the CID to get easy access to the documents and other evidence pertaining to the case.
Meanwhile, the Army Spokesman, in a press statement on Thursday, said the Girthale army camp was sealed while contradicting multiple media reports.
Army Spokesperson Jayanath Jayaweera further said the army has given security for few cupboards supposed to be having confidential documents which was inspected by the military police to assist the courts which demanded few reports needed to investigate the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda.
