Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P. Harrison said that the paddy stocks at Mattala International Airport will be released, starting from tomorrow.

Although the government was criticized for storing paddy stocks in empty warehouses in Mattala, the people ultimately benefited from it, he argued, adding that the government was able to buy more paddy stocks this year.

Furthermore, the government will sell the paddy stocks through a tender process, he added.

The minister also stated that the government will release all paddy stocks before the next harvest.
