US Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders was arrested, not in 2016, but in 1963. Sanders was arrested on August 12, 1963, during a Civil Rights Movement protest. A picture of the incident emerged from the Chicago Tribune Archives as Nevada held its Democratic caucuses on Saturday. German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomes Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Colombo High Court today for the hearing of the bail application of his second son Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
