The All Ceylon Bus Passengers Association says the decision to reduce the average bus fare by 11.14% thereby reducing the minimum bus fare from Rs.38 to Rs.34 from midnight today (04) is not a sufficient decrease. 

According to Vimukthi Dushantha, the convenor of the association, the bus fare reduction has not considered the bus fare increase allowed during the Covid 19 period to facilitate the bus operators to carry passengers only according to the seat number available. 

The association has requested a meeting with the Minister of Transport to further discuss the matter.
