The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) led by opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has accepted President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s invitation to meet on 5 August to discuss the implementation of a national all-party program. 

Confirming the party’s attendance Premadasa has written to Wickremesinghe accepting the latter’s invitation. In it Premadasa noted that it is essential to take necessary steps to solve the economic, political and social issues of the country for the benefit of the people. 

The 19th Amendment to the constitution and the re-establishment of the parliamentary oversight committee system is expected to be discussed at the meeting.
