The Sri Lanka Transport Board says that there are enough SLTB buses operating throughout the country today and the public have no reason to panic.
The SLTB stated that the existing restrictions will not affect the operation of buses and the SLTB depot will also supply fuel for private buses.
However, bus owners’ associations have said that private bus services are limited.
Private bus operators stated that they find it “extremely challenging” to purchase fuel under these circumstances.
Meanwhile, the Railway Department said that the train services will operate on usual schedules and will not be affected by the restrictions.
