As the European Union (EU) looks increasingly likely to recommend that Sri Lanka once regains the EU's Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) +, the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC), Industriall Global Union and the International Trade Union Confederation are urging the EU to adopt a roadmap for Sri Lanka which will include time-bound measures to comply with ILO core conventions.

"Sri Lanka is currently in serious breach of those conventions," claim the three labour rights organisations according to Eco Textile.
