President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has expressed heartfelt thanks to voters following a historic victory in the 2024 general election. Through a message posted on his ‘X’ account, the President wrote, “Thank you to all who voted for a renaissance!”

In the election, held on November 14, the National People’s Power (NPP) secured a remarkable 159 seats in parliament, marking a significant milestone.
The result positions the NPP as a dominant force in the new government.
