Sri Lankan film 'Aloko Udapadi' has been selected for the International Film Festival of India, the country's oldest film awards festival, held at Goa.
The world premier of the movie was held recently in Goa. The film is due to be released in Sri Lankan theatres in January 2017.
The movie's setting in the 1st century B.C. and the story is based on the historical tale of how the Buddhist monks preserved the teachings of the Buddha during the 12 year drought that hit the island.
Directed by Chathra Weeraman, the screenplay of the movie is by Saman Weeraman. The producer is Thusitha Wijayasena.
