UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra's defender jeep, which was arrested regarding the recent abduction of a youth in Dematagoda, was released today on a bond of Rs 4.5 million by Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammed Mihal.
The Magistrate gave this direction after the Colombo Crimes Division informed that the investigations regarding the vehicle have been concluded.
Furthermore, the CCD informed court that the Attorney General will file charge sheets against the suspects in the case in near future.
The case was fixed for next hearing on April 18.
Eight of Premachandra's supporters were arrested and later released on bail regarding the abduction which took place on December 21, 2015. Meanwhile, Premachandra was also arrested for alleged complicity in the case and was later released on bail.
