Social media influencers Anushki and Kanushki Premachandra have taken legal action against the circulation of a video linked to them.

The two women visited the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to lodge a formal complaint regarding the matter.

Speaking to the media, Anushki and Kanushki said that the AI-generated video, which began circulating on social media the previous night, had been shared by a particular group repeatedly.

“An AI-generated video about us is being circulated on social media. Previously too such a video was shared. This has been continuously happening and is being done by one particular group,” they said.

The duo also stated that the CID has launched an investigation to apprehend those responsible for distributing the video. Action will also be taken against others sharing it across various platforms.

Visibly distressed, the women expressed the emotional toll the situation had taken on them, saying, “We were forced to initiate legal action as we are facing severe harassment.” They urged the public to stop such attacks on women.
