Journalists make up stories, said Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He commented this during a religious function held at Sudharshanaramaya, Bandaragama.
Responding to a question raised by a journalist on the formation of a new political front, Former President said that it was a story created by journalists.
“Media makes innocent people look guilty, and guilty people look innocent”, he said.
Speaking to the media at the same event, UPFA MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara also refused to give a direct answer on the possibility of the formation of a new front. The Joint Opposition has already established as a separate entity in practice, he pointed out, adding that Rajapaksa's blessing and leadership will always be with the joint opposition.
"We have to move on to the next step" he said as he left.
