Pakistani companies at the Single Country Exhibition in Sri Lanka received an overwhelming response and most exhibitors sold out all their stock on the first day of the exhibition, the Associated Press, Pakistan said.
Those who sold out stocks included Shabbir Textile, Gul Ahmed, Chen-one, Naurus and Multifoods.
In addition, many Sri Lankan importers made spot orders while future deals were confirmed during the exhibition.
Most of the confirmed deals related to auto, pharma, agro, textile, furniture and marble sectors, said a statement issued by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Saturday.
On the first day of the said exhibition, more than 50 Business-to-business meetings were arranged, whereas Sri Lankan companies also had meetings on the exhibitors’ stalls followed by detailed sessions at the hotels. 125 Pakistani firms displayed their potential products in fours halls.
Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir along with Sri Lankan Public Enterprises Development Minister Kabir Hashim, Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama and Industry and Commerce Minister Risad Badhiutheen inaugurated the exhibition on Friday.
