Ceylon Petroleum Corporation would not be privatized, Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Chandima Weerakkody said.
He made this statement during a ceremony which held to award employees who met 25 years of continuous service to Petroleum Corporation, at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
A protest was staged yesterday by the employees of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, accusing the government of planning to privatize a part of Petroleum Corporation again.
Weerakkody further said he would look into country’s ability to produce liquid petroleum gas and agro-chemicals.
Anoma Gamage, Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development was present at the occasion as well.
