Moving paddy stocks stored from Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport began today (14th).

The Paddy Marketing Board had stored 4000 metric tons of paddy in the airport since 02.09.2014, which led to a controversy.

Removing the paddy stock took place under supervision of the Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P. Harrison.

595000kg of paddy had been released primarily as the complete stock would be released in next few days, said the Minister.
