Ananda - DS - Kingswood Principals Under Probe: Two Principals Already Transferred Out

Education Ministry has initiated inquiries against the Principals of Ananda College, Kingswood College and D. S. Senanayake College, Education Ministry sources told Asian Mirror. 

The probes were initiated after the ministry received multiple complaints against the three principals over school admission issues. 

The ministry sources said Principals of Kingswood College, Kandy, and D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo, had already been transferred out. 

Meanwhile addressing a press conference in Colombo, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam confirmed the transfer of Royal College Principal Upali Gunasekera. 

Gunasekera too was transferred by the Education Ministry after allegations were levelled against him over school admission issues. 

Thurstan College Principal B.A. Abeyratne is likely to be appointed the new Principal of Royal College, the ministry sources further added. Abeyratne was removed from his position as the Principal of Ananda College due to similar charges in 2005, but was later acquitted.
