Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay arrived in Sri Lanka this morning. Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera was at BIA to meet the Bhutanese PM. Tobgay's visit marks the first bilateral visit to Sri Lanka by a Bhutanese Head of Government.

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna commemorated the 44th anniversary of the 1971 insurgency at Tangalle Town Hall on Sunday. The top leadership of the party including leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, General Secretary Tilvin Silva, Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath and former leader Somawansa Amarasinghe took part. Incidentally, JVP founder leader Rohana Wijeweera was a native of Tangalle.
