The Colombo High Court has granted bail to former Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra, who had been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment in June 2023. The bail was granted by Judge Amal Ranaraja after the court considered her bail application today.

Hirunika was convicted for her involvement in the abduction and assault of Amila Priyankara, in Dematagoda in 2015.
