Pakistanis Imprisoned in Sri Lanka to Be Repatriated Within a Week

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, Retired Admiral Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne, met with Pakistan's Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, on Friday. The discussions centered around issues of mutual interest, including the repatriation of Pakistani nationals imprisoned in Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, it was decided that Pakistani prisoners who have been incarcerated in Sri Lankan jails for many years would be brought back to Pakistan within seven days. Both sides agreed to expedite the necessary steps to facilitate this repatriation.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner assured Pakistan of full support in the release of these prisoners, highlighting that all necessary measures are being finalized swiftly. The meeting also covered topics related to anti-narcotics efforts and border security.
