The Department of Meteorology has forecasted afternoon showers in multiple provinces of Sri Lanka today. Showers or thundershowers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and Southern provinces after 2:00 p.m. Additionally, coastal areas from Galle to Hambantota via Matara may experience showers or thundershowers in the morning.
Misty conditions are anticipated in some areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces during the morning hours. Moreover, there's a likelihood of showers or thundershowers in certain sea areas off the coast extending from Pottuvil to Matara via Hambantota.
Winds are forecasted to be south-easterly in some sea areas and south-westerly or variable in others, with speeds of 20-30 kmph.
While sea conditions are expected to be slight, temporary strong gusty winds and very rough seas might occur during thundershowers.
