Three suspects wanted in connection with an assault and causing bodily harm incident have been apprehended by Modara Police.
The arrests, made in the Redbanawatte area of Modara Beach, yielded significant evidence, including an assault rifle and ammunition.
The suspects, aged 21, 23, and 24, are residents of Kimbula Ela, Bloemendhal, and Wellampitiya respectively. Additionally, during the operation, one suspect was found in possession of 25 grams and 300 milligrams of heroin. Further interrogation led to the discovery of a T-56 assault rifle, magazines, and rounds of ammunition at a residence in Ragama.
The investigation also uncovered heroin in the possession of a three-wheeler driver linked to aiding the suspects. Modara Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
