Special bus and train services have been implemented by the National Transport Commission (NTC) and the Department of Railways to accommodate travelers returning to Colombo after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays.

NTC Chairman Shashi Welgama confirmed the deployment of extra buses to meet passenger demand, while the Department of Railways announced special train services from Badulla, Galle, and Beliatta railway stations to Colombo Fort.
These initiatives aim to facilitate smooth post-holiday travel for the public.
