The Meteorology Department has issued a forecast indicating heavy showers above 100 mm in several provinces due to the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
Showers or thundershowers are expected in most provinces after 01.00 p.m., with Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces likely to experience the heaviest rainfall.
Coastal areas of Eastern and Southern provinces, as well as Mullaitivu district, may also see showers or thundershowers during the morning hours.Misty conditions are anticipated in parts of Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning. 

The public is advised to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
