A 12-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after falling off a train traveling from Colombo to Batticaloa.
The incident occurred when the child attempted to wash her hands through the window. She sustained head injuries and was first treated at Welikanada Hospital before being transferred to Polonnaruwa Hospital. Investigations indicate the girl was returning home after visiting relatives in Katupatha.
