In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Maligawatta Police apprehended a 25-year-old individual with a substantial cache of heroin valued at Rs. 60 million.

Acting swiftly on a tip-off, officers intercepted the suspect en route to Grandpass, seizing 1kg and 150g of heroin along with Rs. 750,000 in illicit funds.
The apprehended individual, hailing from Wellampitiya, is believed to be closely associated with the fugitive criminal gang leader "Keselwatta Dinuka," currently evading authorities in Dubai.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before Maligakanda No. 2 Court today for further legal proceedings.
