The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) surged past the 12,000-point threshold during Wednesday's trading session.

This achievement marks the first time since February 21, 2022, that the ASPI has exceeded the 12,000-point mark. At the close of trading, the ASPI stood at 12,033.10 points, reflecting a notable uptick of 0.59% (70.61 points) compared to the previous day.
Trading activity was robust, with over 86 million shares exchanged, totaling a market turnover of Rs. 2.96 billion. Additionally, the S&P SL20 also witnessed a positive trend, concluding the day at 3,580.64 points, representing a gain of 0.95% (33.81 points) from the previous day's close.
