In a recent development regarding the immunoglobulin scandal, the bail application of the Additional Secretary of the Health Ministry has been denied.
The official, Saman Ratnayake, allegedly involved in the procurement of substandard human intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) vials, appeared before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today.
Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama ruled that Ratnayake will remain in remand custody until the conclusion of the hearing.
