The Department of Meteorology has announced that the island can expect heightened rainfall starting tomorrow, April 11th.
According to forecasts, several spells of showers are anticipated in the Eastern Province and Hambantota District.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers are forecasted for parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts after 2:00 p.m.Residents in the Western, Central, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts, may also experience misty conditions in the morning.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Furthermore, the Department highlighted that the sun will be directly over Sri Lanka's latitudes from April 5th to April 15th this year. As of today, April 10th, areas such as Tambuttegama, Medirigiriya, Ihala Puliyankulama, Rajanganaya, Eppawala, and Vakarai can expect the sun to be directly overhead around noon.
