Kompagngna Veediya Flyover Inaugurated by President Ranil WickremesingheToday, President Ranil Wickremesinghe marked the official opening of the Kompagngna Veediya flyover, connecting Justice Akbar Mawatha and Uttarankanda Mawatha via a span over the railway line.
The project, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the bustling commercial city, is set to be fully completed by September, with an estimated cost of Rs. 5,278,081,272.43. Commuters in the area, which hosts a myriad of institutions ranging from government offices to hospitals, have long faced delays of up to 3 hours due to the railway crossing. The construction, overseen by the Road Development Authority and executed by Maga Engineering Company, seeks to streamline traffic flow and enhance connectivity in the region.
