President promises to Boost Football Infrastructure Following Sri Lanka's Victory Over Bhutan

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with the Sri Lankan national football team at the Presidential Secretariat, lauding their recent victory over Bhutan, the first in a decade. Expressing support for the team's ambition to clinch the South Asian Championship (SAFF) next year, the President vowed to enhance football infrastructure. With football gaining popularity in Sri Lanka, the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) has curated a strong national team, boasting talent from various professional leagues globally.

During the visit, FFSL President Jaswar Umar, Head Coach Andy Morrison, and the team met the President, exchanging pleasantries and capturing moments with photographs. As a gesture of esteem, President Umar presented President Wickremesinghe with a personalized National Football Jersey.
