The Meteorology Department has issued a forecast predicting fairly heavy showers in several provinces of the island.
According to the department, Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-western provinces are likely to experience showers or thundershowers after 2.00 p.m. Specifically, areas in Western, Southern, and Sabaragamuwa provinces may see showers exceeding 75 mm. Additionally, the Eastern province is expected to experience several spells of showers.Misty conditions are anticipated in parts of Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Western provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
