Former President Maithripala Sirisena is set to make an appearance before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (25).

He has been summoned to the CID at 10:30 a.m. to provide a statement. This comes following a directive from Public Security Minister Tiran Alas, instructing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to conduct an urgent investigation into remarks made by the former President in Kandy recently, where he claimed knowledge of individuals involved in the Easter Sunday attacks of April 21, 2019.
