The Department of Meteorology has announced a shift in the prevailing dry weather conditions across the island, effective from today.
According to forecasts, several spells of showers are expected in the Eastern, Uva, and Northern provinces. Additionally, showers or thundershowers are predicted in various areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-Western, and North-Central provinces during the afternoon or night.
The department further cautioned that some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province may experience fairly heavy showers exceeding 50mm.
