The Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment is set to host the next installment of its 'Jayagamu Sri Lanka' programme in Matale this week. Scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of March at Edward Ground, Matale, the event aims to showcase foreign job opportunities and foster the development of Matale.

Following successful programs in various regions including Anuradhapura, Wellawaya, Kegalle, Kandy, Kurunegala, and Polonnaruwa, the recent 'Jayagamu Sri Lanka – Smart Tomorrow for Polonnaruwa' program witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, students, migrant workers, and professionals. Notable dignitaries, including Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara, attended the event, emphasizing initiatives such as appraisals for migrant workers and awareness campaigns against human trafficking.

Additionally, the 'Garusaru' program, aimed at dignifying informal sector employees, was highlighted, offering certification for their skills to access better job opportunities. The event also featured consultations for youth empowerment and vocational training, with support extended to five hundred youths through the President's Fund.

The 'Jayagamu Sri Lanka' program serves as a platform to bridge employment gaps and provide comprehensive support to individuals seeking both local and foreign job opportunities, fostering a more inclusive and prosperous workforce.
