Former Sri Lankan Test Cricketer Lahiru Thirimanne and his family members were injured in a motor accident in Thirappane, Anuradhapura.

Sri Lanka Police reported that the injured were swiftly taken to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

The accident occurred when the car carrying Thirimanne collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction while en route from Kandy to Anuradhapura.

Authorities suspect driver fatigue as the cause of the accident.
