The Ministry of Education has announced that three private universities have applied for the establishment of medical faculties.

The applications were submitted by Lyceum, NSBM, and SLIIT, according to the Ministry's Non State Higher Education Division.

The Sri Lanka Medical Council has reportedly reached an initial agreement regarding Lyceum's application. Further steps are underway as the Education Ministry evaluates the applications.
