Today, the infamous underworld figure Nadun Chithaka Wickremeratne, widely known as 'Harak Kata', was brought before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

He is currently under the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following his arrest in Madagascar on March 1, 2023, along with his associate Salindu Malshika, alias "Kudu Salindu."

The joint operation, involving INTERPOL, Malagasy law enforcement, and Customs officials, led to their apprehension.

The extradition process was facilitated by the Sri Lankan High Commission in Victoria, Seychelles, as Sri Lanka lacks diplomatic representation in Madagascar.
