Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that he received a letter this morning from the PUCSL recommending an inquiry into the power interruption due to CEB union action on 9th of June.
"They have concluded a Rs 320 Million cost incurred operating Fuel Plants when Hydropower could have been generated on the same day," the Minister said.
"On the 10th of June, I had instructed CEB Chairman and GM to internally investigate the incidents, assist the CID in their investigations and to temporarily remove the alleged persons responsible from the positions to carry out an impartial inquiry and take appropriate legal steps," he added.
