Multi-modal transport centre at Makumbura, Kottawa completely blocked by protestors parking their buses while demanding for fuel.

Transport across the country has been hampered due to unavailability of fuel. Long queues are seen near petrol sheds island wide while the CPC is struggling to meet the demand in the market.

Protests were reported in many places yesterday as well with angry crowds demanding efficient distribution of fuel.

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said the government was expecting another shipment of petrol next week. However, it is still not clear as to when the LC with regard to the new shipment will be opened.
