Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said no Russian company had agreed to provide fuel to Sri Lanka with a 35% or any discount.
Wijesekera made this remark while responding to a question raised by former Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara.
Wijesekera said he personally met with the Russian Ambassador in this regard and following his instructions, wrote to four Russian companies in order to purchase oil.
The Minister said no company agreed to supply fuel with a 35% discount as suggested by the former Minister.
