IGP C.D. Wickremaratne has sent a damning letter to Jagath Alwis, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, explaining the blatant politicization of the police service under over the past two years.

The IGP, in his letter, has stated that 126 OICs who were appointed last year had not even faced a single interview.

The IGP has said three suitable who were deemed unqualified after interviews had also been appointed as OICs.
