Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said he ordered the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to carry out an investigation into the rates displayed on the dispenser at the Police Department’s fuel station in Narahenpita.
Wijesekera said MPs have not been issued fuel at subsidized prices and fuel is only issued for them at market prices.
However, MPs have been permitted to purchase fuel from the Police Department’s fuel station in Narahenpita allowing them to avoid long queues for fuel.
Wijesekera said he would make a statement in Parliament today regarding this matter.
