An attempt made by the police to disperse protestors gathered out the parliamentary premises using tear gas and water cannons turned futile, a short while ago.
Although the police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protestors they could not drive the protestors away.
The protestors stood their ground and braved the police action, our sources said. They have now regrouped again near the parliamentary premises and the protests are continuing in full swing.
The police, according to our reporters, have temporarily suspended their attack on the protestors as of now.
The protest near the parliamentary premises is led by the Inter University Students Federation.
