Police officers in civil attire were seen photographing a protest held in Batticaloa demanding justice for the slain journalist Dharmaratnam Sivaram.

The protest was attended by TNA MP Shanakiyan Rasamanikkam.

When he asked several people photographing the protest about their media stations, they admitted that they were attached to the Police.

When the MP asked the reason behind such higher levels of surveillance, the Police officers kept silent.
