Former Kegalle SSP K.B. Keerthirathna and three Police Constables were arrested by the CID this evening, over firing at unarmed civilians during a protest in Rambukkana on 19 April. This is following the order given by Kegalle Magistrate Wasana Nawaratne. SSP Keerthirathna was arrested while he was at Police Hospital in Narahenpita while the others were arrested in Kundasale. The Police opened fire at unarmed protesters who demanded fuel on 19 April, killing one person and injuring dozens.
