Leader of the House, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs had agreed to allow political parties to present proposals based on the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and to discuss the matter in Parliament.
He stated that the Speaker is scheduled to make a special statement in Parliament in this regard.
The Committee on Parliamentary Affairs met under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena at the Parliament Complex this afternoon (18).
Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena also briefed the party leaders on the role of the President in the swearing in of the new Ministers.
